Full description of Dent

DENT is an Ethereum-based utility Token (?) issued by a Decentralized (?) marketplace with the same name. The company behind the platform is Dent Wireless that presents itself as the first digital and mobile operator. The token was released with the purpose to tokenize Telco Assets for the purchase and sale of mobile sale packages. The company DENT Wireless LTD headquartered in Hong-Kong started its activity in 2014. Initially, its founder Tero Katajainen worked over an automated Forex market system with the embedded risk management features. However, that work was used to establish another platform focused on the tokenization of mobile data. The members of the DENT team criticize the complexity and fragmentation of the telco industry and try to destroy monopolistic business models established at the end of the last century. The company offers a better solution instead, planning to introduce the eSIM technology that can potentially become a new standard for mobile data. The platform claims that it has 26 million users from over 80 countries that share data for eSIM capable devices. The company plans to add 20 countries more to the global pack for eSIM. The aims targeted by the Dent project The project is an attempt at democratization in the world of mobile data. The platform turns mobile data into a commodity that can be exchanged with other members of the system. The founders of the project consider SIM cards an outdated technology that should be replaced. The goal of the platform is to create a data-sharing economy with capabilities of buying, selling, or donating mobile data. Thus, the native token of the platform can become a worldwide currency for Mobile Data between telecom companies and the community. With the spread of such currency, the problem of costly roaming is solved. Also, the project plans to alleviate the purchase of mobile data for consumers and IoT devices. DENT platform Dent relies on the research revealing that in 2016, users lost almost 5 billion dollars as the plans they purchased were either unused or expired. The platform strives to enable members of its ecosystem to share the mobile data with others instead of allowing this asset to lapse. Using the technology developed by Dent, it becomes possible to give unused capacity to other members of the system. eSIM allows users to break the barriers of obsolete technologies and select the network to their liking. However, destroying the established market, the company invites all its current participants to connect to the platform and to offer their services to customers. The company conducts research and development for its innovative IoT product called “eSIM on a chip”. The goal is to create an open-source OS for a connected device in order to replace WLAN setup features with a new product mentioned above. The platform tries to create healthy competition between the service providers so that the consumers could choose a suitable plan easily without the necessity of buying extra services often included in the packages. On March 31, 2021, DENT Gigastore, the world’s first global eSIM mobile data reseller platform was launched. The packages sold on the platform are valid in more than 60 countries within a year. DENT token The token DENT is the currency for trading mobile data through the Ethereum blockchain. The tokens and mobile data are smart contracts within the blockchain, which enabled the automation of the financial process. The platform helps to connect telcos and users who are not separate customers any longer but a huge strong community with large consuming power. The DENT token sale opened on July 12th, 2017, with up to 10% bonus tokens for early participation. The ICO (Initial Coin Offering) (?) ended on 25th July. As a result, the company raised 4,300,000 USD. The total token supply is 100,000,000,000 DENT. 70% of tokens were allocated for the pre-sale and token sale. It was planned that the unsold tokens remain with the company and locked for further quarterly release within 6 months. 30% of tokens are distributed for salaries and user incentives. DENT team Tero Katajainen, a founder and CEO of the platform, had co-founded several startups in the past. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Tampere, Finland. Huge expertise in Forex trading systems contributed to his work over DENT. Tero was one of the first developers who implemented direct payment systems of mobile operators to consumer apps. In 2017, other co-founders joined the project to work over DENT products. Mikko Linnamäki is a co-founder, who previously founded several internet businesses including DOVECOT Oy that developed the world‘s most popular IMAP Server that can boast of over 4 million installations globally. Andreas Vollmer, a co-founder, used to work for TDSoftware that develops apps for such famous brands as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Deutsche Post, GLS, etc. There were rumors about the partnership between Dent and Elon Musk's Starlink. However, the deal wasn’t officially confirmed. The confirmed partnerships include Samsung blockchain, G+D Mobile Security, GSMA, bunq, and others.
